Utah Science Educators Workshop at USU's Center for Integrated BioSystems
Utah State University invites high school science, health science and agriculture teachers from around the state to attend this year’s Biotechnology Teacher Symposium. The day-long program will be held Monday, Nov. 14, at Utah State University’s Center for Integrated BioSystems in Logan.
The Biotechnology Teacher Symposium is a teacher training workshop covering biotechnology curriculum and implementation. This year’s symposium explores animal cell culture techniques and animal cloning. New and past attendees are welcome to attend.
Teachers participate in lab-based activities involving animal cell culture growth, cell comparisons, creation of human chromosomal spreads and nuclear cell transfer/animal cloning.
Attendees of this free program receive half an in-service credit from the Utah State Office of Education and handouts of supporting materials covering all activities at the workshop.
USU’s Center for Integrated BioSystems is a fully equipped, laboratory-based teaching facility with professional staff offering hands-on training in biotechnology methods and laboratory instruction.
