USU Tradition Encourages Unity

Utah State University President Stan Albrecht took part in the historic Hello Walk tradition, meeting and talking with students at the opening of the semester.

“The Hello Walk allows us to bring back one of Utah State University’s important traditions,” said Albrecht. “For me personally, it provides another opportunity to meet and mingle with our outstanding students.”

Started in 1961, the Hello Walk promotes friendliness and unity on campus. The Hello Walk is the path from the south entrance of Old Main and heads east to the Eccles business building, home of the Jon M Huntsman School of Business.

“We want students to know that Utah State is a place to make friends,” said Crystal Degan, Associated Students of Utah State University (ASUSU) traditions director. “As you walk down the Hello Walk on your way to class, say hi to your fellow students and take part in this tradition.”
