Utah State University has partnered with SOS International to provide a comprehensive international travel and medical program for all USU faculty, staff and students.
The contract with SOS International provides USU faculty, staff and students with emergency medical, personal, travel, legal and security assistance services when traveling overseas.
“USU continues to be concerned with travelers health, safety and security while traveling on behalf of the university, especially to international locations,” said Ed Reeve, interim vice provost for international education. “The International SOS Network of offices, physicians, hospitals, aero medical specialists and global security analysts are dedicated to one common goal, helping people in their time of need, no matter where they are in the world.”
If travelers become ill, involved in an accident, a security-related incident or an unstable political situation, SOS International will provide its services. One phone call connects travelers to the International SOS Network of multi-lingual staff trained to help resolve travel, medical, legal and security problems. Services range from telephone advice and referrals to full-scale medical evacuations by private air ambulance. The SOS Network of critical care and aero medical specialists operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from SOS Alarm Centers around the world.
Additionally, SOS's global security network is designed to assist in managing the complex issues of people, information, communications and transportation during a threatening emergency situation. Membership in SOS is a valuable protection against unexpected difficulties that can arise when travelers are away from home.
Travelers should go to www.internationalsos.com and complete a traveler profile, as well as print a downloadable ID card. The USU pin is 11BYSG000002.
