USU 'Be Well' Program Honors Supporters

The ‘Be Well’ program at USU held its first end-of-year thank you party at President Stan and Joyce Albrecht’s home in Logan.

The party honored individuals who helped make the Be Well program a success. Caroline Shugart, director of Be Well, said the program encouraged partnerships and policies that rewarded healthy lifestyles on campus.

“We’ve accomplished so much in 10 months, and I hope to accomplish even more in the future with your help,” she said. She thanked everyone for the support she received, but she singled out three individuals whom she presented with recognition awards.

The first recognition went to USU’s First Lady, Joyce Albrecht, who was honored for her support of wellness and also for being a great role model. She was presented with the “winged shoes” award, for the energy she brought to the USU Walking Club.

The second award went to BrandE Faupell, executive director of human resources at USU. Shugart said Faupell has been a cheerleader for the Be Well program. She was honored for her effort and dedication to wellness and to the USU Walking Club.

Fred Hunsaker, vice president for business and finance, was honored for all his involvement and support of the Be Well program.

Among the 47 guests who attended this healthy event were representatives from the USU Contemporary Dance Company, wellness class instructors, employees of the Logan Regional Hospital, the HPER graduate students involved in the program, Aggie Walking Club and the dietitian from the Student Wellness Center. All the guests received a gift.
