Tree Planting Memorials for Faculty

The Department of Languages, Philosophy and Speech Communication at Utah State University plans two tree planting ceremonies in memory of faculty who died during summer 2008.

A ceremony for Renate Posthofen is Wednesday, Sept. 17, and begins at 3:30 p.m. The ceremony and tree planting take place at the grassy area directly behind the Lundberg building, north and east of Old Main.

A ceremony honors Maria Isela Chiu Wednesday, Sept. 24, and begins at 3:30 p.m. Activities take place on Old Main Hill, south of Old Main and west of the amphitheatre.

“Both faculty members were of great service to the university,” said Languages, Philosophy and Speech Communication Department Head Bradford Hall. “All are welcome to join us for the ceremonies in this time of remembrance.”
