Plan Now for Founders Day
Utah State University takes time to celebrate its founding and honor its distinguished graduates and friends at its annual Founders Day celebration. This year’s activities are Friday, March 4, with the theme “Aggie Night Fever.”
Honored that evening are C. Mark and Mary M. (’69, economics) Bold, Janice J. Dee (’54, elementary education) and Kay L. (’69, marketing; ’70, MBA) and Judy Toolson, who receive the Distinguished Service Award.
The Distinguished Service award is Utah State University’s highest award and is presented to an alumnus, Utahan or others who have contributed significant service to the university or their community.
Also to be recognized that evening are Tony A. Kinninger (’65, history) and Don J. Wang (’72, master’s, agriculture/nutrition and food science), who receive the Distinguished Alumni Award.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest recognition presented annually by the USU Alumni Association. It is given to individuals who have, throughout their lives, best utilized their knowledge, initiative and individuality in public service to the university, the public or their profession.
Founders Day activities begin with a reception in the Taggart Student Center’s International Lounge at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner and the awards presentation in the Stevenson Ballroom. A dessert reception follows. Cost for the reception and dinner is $35. The celebration is open to everyone.
