Losing Steam

A short outage of steam from the central energy plant is scheduled July 3 and 4. Steam will be turned off the evening of July 2 to allow work and installation of new piping and valves in the system.

As a result, there will be no steam for autoclaves, food preparation, hot water and heating.

Looking ahead to next year …

In order to perform other essential maintenance at the central energy plant, an outage of steam for the entire campus is planned the week following spring graduation in 2010. Steam will be shut off Sunday, May 9, 2010, and be turned on again on Sunday May 16, 2010. This planned maintenance will become a regular annual event in the future and will take place the first week after graduation.

Plan future activities so that these essential outages will be of minimal inconvenience.
