Faculty Senate News

As a service to faculty members of Utah State University, the Faculty Senate will provide monthly announcements of its upcoming meetings in Utah State Today.

The next Faculty Senate meeting is Oct. 3.

Agenda items include the Educational Policies Committee Annual Report, the Honors Program report, the Library Advisory Council report, the Parking Committee report, as well as action items from the Educational Policies Committee (EPC) and the Professional Responsibilities and Procedures Committee (PRPC). The PRPC will present code changes needed to deal with the administrative title changes resulting from combing the office of the Vice President for Research and the dean of the School of Graduate Studies.

The final item on the agenda will be a discussion about how the Faculty Senate can better communicate with its faculty constituents. Faculty members are encouraged to freely communicate their questions and/or concerns to their elected Faculty senators. Membership rosters and contact information for Faculty senators as well as the Faculty Senate Executive Committee can be found on the Faculty Senate webpage.

The Faculty Senate also has an upcoming Faculty Forum to be held Nov. 7 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center Auditorium. The Faculty Forum provides a format where faculty can discuss subjects of current interest, question and debate policies and procedures, and formulate recommendations for consideration by the Faculty Senate. The agenda for the forum is set by the Faculty Forum Executive Committee at its Oct. 17 meeting. USU faculty members are encouraged to contact their college senators or Faculty Senate Executive Committee members with items they would like to have on the forum’s agenda.
