Faculty Development and Diversity Workshop

LOGAN - The Provost’s Lecture Series, sponsored by Utah State University’s vice provost for faculty development and diversity, continues Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 12:00 p.m. at the Merrill-Cazier Library, Room 101 with a lecture titled "I'm Not a Racist, but...": Developing a Critical and Inclusive Classroom Through Evaluation of Language and Narrative presented by Kyle Reyes, assistant to the president at Utah Valley University.
Kyle Reyes is a well known speaker and advocate for social justice. As assistant to President Matthew S. Holland at Utah Valley University, Kyle directs the Latinos Unidos mentoring program and a number of other initiatives related to inclusion, equity, diversity, multiculturalism, and student success.
Ann Austin, vice provost for faculty development and diversity, encourages all faculty members to participate in the first lecture of the year.
"Diversity is the theme for many of the offerings in the Provost's Lecture Series this academic year," Austin said. "Kyle Reyes continues the discussion with a look at some of the more subtle barriers to acceptance and inclusion. His thoughtful consideration of diversity will give us much to contemplate at the beginning of a new semester and a new year."
Dessert will be served.
