Emeritus Professors Exhibit Work at USU
Utah State University retired faculty members R.T. Clark and Craig Law exhibit their work in “An Exhibition by USU Emeritus Professors” Jan. 14- Feb. 8 in the Tippetts Exhibit Hall, located in the Chase Fine Arts Center on USU’s Logan campus.
“As faculty members retire after years of service to our college, we like to think that they aren’t leaving us, but simply moving on to a new phase in our relationship,” said Christopher Terry, associate dean of the Caine College of the Arts and professor in the Department of Art and Design. “This exhibition is a tangible demonstration of that continuing connection and we are proud to honor these two photographers.”
Law received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from USU, studying photography. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree, he began teaching at his alma mater, continuing after his master’s program was finished as well. He served as the Art Department head from 1996-2001 and then returned to teaching to finish his time at USU prior to retiring.
Clark taught photography at USU for 28 years, serving as department head of the art department as well. Clark’s former students have gone on to careers focusing on rodeo, fashion and architectural photography, as well as teaching.
“An Exhibition by USU Emeritus Professors” is free and open to the public and can be seen Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
An opening reception is Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. in the Tippetts Exhibit Hall as part of the Caine College of the Arts’ Arts Week 2013 activities.
