CPD Launches New Web Site
Utah State University’s Center for People with Disabilities launched a new interactive Web site recently. The new site provides useful and accessible content to anyone using the Web site.
“The look is new but the ideas are unchanged,” said JoLynne Lyon, media specialist at the CPD. “The Web site is user friendly and will help provide useful information for students, the community, professionals in fields ranging from business to health care and anyone who is interested.”
The search engine has an advanced incremental search that automatically displays results as the search terms are being entered. Results are brought up for both CPD programs and the people who work on them. The homepage has a three-column format that allows visitors to see what’s new.
The site provides access to a new feature, the CPD’s blog and newsletter. The blogs offer a personal look into the issues that people with disabilities, their families and their communities face every day, from the perspective of people connected to the center.
A calendar is provided keeping visitors informed on events relevant to people with disabilities, their families and the professionals who serve them. The new site also allows people to get involved by participating in online surveys, finding volunteer opportunities, playing CPD’s online game or contributing to CPD programs.
