Considering a Hybrid Vehicle? Purchasing Seeks Input

Utah State University has received a request from Tony Divino Toyota, the state’s contract vendor, to provide a projected estimate of the number of 2010 hybrid vehicles the university might need for the coming year. Hybrid vehicle options include the Toyota Prius, Camry or Highlander. The dealership must submit projected numbers for Utah’s production allocation.

USU Purchasing will submit this estimate to the vendor and seeks input from university programs, departments and colleges.

Purchasing does not need an official order, just a “wish list” to submit to Tony Divino Toyota. Any area considering a hybrid model should contact Marsha Howell by Nov. 6. She can be reached at 797-1034 or by email, marsha.howell@usu.edu.

“If you are considering one of these vehicles, or if you are inclined to order one, let us know,” Howell said. “The vendor will not hold us to any numbers in the event we need to cancel. These vehicles are in high demand, and we need to provide an estimate.”

Contact Howell by Nov. 6.
