Women's Center Presents 'Finding Voice’ Vignettes and Full Performance
Utah State University’s Women’s Center presents vignettes from “Finding Voice” Oct. 1-3 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center’s Sunburst Lounge, and a full performance Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Eccles Conference Center Auditorium. All are free.
“Finding Voice” was created as a result of a research project conducted by USU's music therapy program in the Department of Music from October 2002 through May 2003 with female participants of CAPSA (Community Abuse Prevention Services Agency) support group. The work is described as a stage performance that resulted from women taking their stories to the public through song, poetry and movement. All pieces in the performance, with the exception of one, are the original work of the participants.
“Finding Voice” is moving, funny, educational, and brings hope to those who may not believe there is any, the Women’s Center said.
