Women Over 65 Achievement Awards Marks Anniversary at Utah State University

It’s been a year of anniversaries at Utah State University’s Women’s Center, and a program coordinated by the center is about to celebrate another. The Women’s Center, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has acknowledged the accomplishments, activities and civic dedication of women over the age of 65 in the “Women Over 65 Achievement Award Ceremony” for the past 20 years. This year two women have been selected as honorees, Anne Butler and Carolyn Cragun.

 

An evening reception and ceremony honors the 2005 recipients Tuesday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in the Stevenson Ballroom of the Taggart Student Center on campus. The program is free and all are invited to recognize and pay tribute to Butler and Cragun. The evening is coordinated by the Women’s Center Advisory Board.

 

“It is especially fitting during National Women’s History Month to recognize women who have made such broad contributions to the community,” said Janet Osborne, director of Utah State Women’s Center and Reentry Student Center. “We offer well-deserved congratulations to our recipients, Anne Butler and Carolyn Cragun.”
