Who is Big Blue? Identity Revealed at Last Home Game

Big Blue sightings take place constantly. Blue can be seen at athletic events, fundraisers and pep rallies. The big, blue bull appears at schools and hospitals, with both children and adults. In short, Big Blue is just about anywhere.

The mystery person inside the suit finally stepped out and into the spotlight during Utah State's last home game of the basketball season. Bo Roundy was introduced to the sold-out crowd as the man inside the bull.

President Stan Albrecht, Vice President for Student Services Juan Franco and Athletic Director Randy Spetman were on hand to congratulate Roundy as he concludes his career as Big Blue and prepares for graduation.

Roundy received a letterman's jacket and a plaque, thanking him for his outstanding service to Utah State University. Roundy's wife, Maila, his one-year-old son, Tayden, and his parents were on hand for the big evening as well.

A senior education major, Roundy is preparing for life after Utah State University. He currently student teaches at Logan High and has written a children's book, "My Friend Big Blue," available soon at the Utah State Bookstore and other locations.

"Bo truly loves children and wants everyone to like Big Blue," said cheer and spirit advisor Linda Zimmerman. "Bo is a genuine person and his rapport with the crowd is amazing. He is very talented but it goes beyond that — he makes personal contact with all around him."

Roundy has benefited from his wife's support, Zimmermann said. He balanced full time work with a full course load, while entertaining Aggie fans as Big Blue.

"We wish him the best," Zimmerman concluded.
