Welcome Provost Coward

President Stan Albrecht hosts a reception to welcome newly named executive vice president and provost Raymond T. Coward to campus. Coward and his wife, Andrea, will be introduced to the campus community Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 2-4 p.m. in the Haight Alumni Center. All are invited.

"Utah State University is absolutely delighted that Dr. Raymond Coward has agreed to join us," Albrecht said when Coward's selection was announced. "Ray brings a wonderful combination of experience and accomplishment that will be particularly helpful as our institution deals with the opportunities ahead."

As provost, Coward will be the chief academic officer at Utah State — a university he describes as rich in teaching tradition and proud of its public responsibilities as the state's only land grant institution.

"Utah State is a place that is on the move," he said. "I am impressed by the quality of faculty who are attracted to USU, the passionate and hard-working students who attend, and the expanding portfolio of sponsored research that is being conducted at USU."
