Welcome Back - Let's Go Skiing

Utah State University’s Classified Employee Association and Professional Employee Association have teamed to present the Second Annual Ski Night at Beaver Mountain.

This year’s event gets winter semester off to a fun start and will be held Thursday, Jan. 10, from 5-9 p.m. at Beaver Mountain. Organized by USU’s two employee associations, the event has been expanded to include everyone this year — faculty, staff, students, families or friends.

“Last year was a huge success and we are excited about the turnout this year,” said Jen Hoppie, CEA media and public relations committee chair on the executive council. “The roads to Beaver Mountain are heavily patrolled by the snow plows, so don’t let a little snowfall deter you from coming and having a great time.”

Lift tickets for the evening are $10. Skis can be rented for $10 or snowboards for $12. For those who are just beginning to ski, beginner group lessons are available for $5 per person. Lessons are offered at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Registration forms are available online and are due by Jan. 7. Forms can be mailed to USU Ski Night, 4170 Old Main Hill, Utah State University, Logan, Utah 84322-4170, or through campus mail to UMC 4170. They can also be dropped off at the Engineering Lab room 241.

All payments for Ski Night will be taken on site, not with the registration form. A credit card is required for a deposit on all ski and snowboard rentals. Food during the evening is available for purchase at the Snack Shack, catered by Culinary Concepts.

Those who miss the registration deadline can still join the skiing. For questions or concerns, contact Hoppie at (435) 797-3065 or at jenhoppie@engineering.usu.edu.
