Volunteers Sought by Museum of Anthropology

Logan residents and Utah State University students Curtis and Tricia Hancock are heading an effort to recruit and train a variety of volunteers for the Utah State Museum of Anthropology, a facility supported by the department of sociology, social work and anthropology and by the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies.

Volunteer positions available include education curator, public relations specialist, special events coordinator, collections curator and membership program coordinator. Training will be provided for anyone interested in these positions. Previous experience is not necessary — a desire to become involved is the only prerequisite.

Training sessions for these positions begin in early August, and volunteers should be ready to work with the museum team in late August. Volunteer hours can be flexible, but a minimum of five hours a week is suggested. Applications are available at the museum, located in Old Main room 252. The museum is open weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
