Utah Symphony Chamber Orchestra Brings 'Music d'energie' to USU

The Caine School of the Arts at Utah State University will host the famous Utah Symphony Chamber Orchestra when it performs April 6 at the USU Performance Hall. Concert time is 7:30 p.m.

 

Admission is $15 for adult tickets and $8 for all students. Tickets are available at the Caine School of the Arts Box Office, Chase Fine Arts Center, Room 138-B.

 

“It’s practically a steal for such an invigorating orchestral performance,” said Michelle Mattson, assistant box office manager for the Caine School of the Arts.

 

The program includes Mozart’s “Overture” to Marriage of Figaro, K. 92, and Mozart’s Concerto No. 4 for Violin in D Major, K. 218. A short intermission is followed by Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 in C Major, op. 21.

 

Kory Katseanes will conduct the Utah Symphony Chamber Orchestra in a performance titled “Musique d’energie.” Soloist Ralph Matson will be featured on the violin.

 

“We are positive Katseanes and all the dynamic musicians in the Utah Symphony Orchestra will leave the audience awestruck, inspired and absolutely delighted,” said Craig Jessop, music department head for the Caine School of the Arts.

 

Conductor Katseanes is also a professor and director of orchestras and an associate director of the School of Music at Brigham Young University.
