Utah State Women's Tennis Ranked No. 69 In First ITA Computerized Poll

Utah State [University] women’s tennis (9-3, 0-0 MW) is ranked No. 69 in the nation in the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association computer poll of the season with an average score of 5.15 after winning its last three matches and five of its last six.

“It’s great to get into the rankings for the first time,” said USU head coach Sean McInerney. “We have had a solid start to the season, and it is a nice step forward for our program.”

The Aggies are ahead of in-state rival Utah, which is ranked No. 73 with a 4.17 average score, while BYU is No. 67 with a 5.79 average score. Among Mountain West teams, New Mexico is 37 (14.91) and San Diego State is No. 43 (11.81).

Utah State recorded a 4-3 win against BYU this season, its first win against BYU in program history, and has Utah and New Mexico on the schedule later this season.

The rankings are made from a formula that gives points based on wins and losses, and takes into consideration opponents’ rankings from the week prior.
