Utah State University Sets New Spring Enrollment Record—Up Nearly 7 Percent

Utah State University’s total spring enrollment set a new attendance record at 24,820, which marks a 6.85 percent increase from one year ago and a 17.4 percent jump in enrollment at its regional campuses.

The numbers do not reflect the 7.54 percent annual increase to 2,296 students attending USU-College of Eastern Utah. CEU merged with USU in July, 2010.

USU spring enrollment, as with Utah universities and colleges system-wide, is slightly lower than its fall numbers, which is typical.

USU’s Logan campus enrollment increased 3.9 percent to 15,510 students with the biggest increase — 8.3 percent — in the junior class at 3,074. The freshman class increased 4.2 percent from one year ago to 2,644 students. Duplicates — students attending both the Logan campus and taking classes off-campus — totaled 2,582. This number was subtracted from the total headcount enrollment.

USU spring headcount numbers have jumped nearly 17 percent — close to 4,000 students — over the past five years.
