Utah State University Administrator Appointed to State Commission

Sue Guenter-Schlesinger, assistant executive vice president for Affirmative Action and Diversity at Utah State University, has been appointed to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Rights Commission for the state of Utah. The appointment was made by Gov. Olene S. Walker.

 

“Our government is made stronger through citizens who are willing to contribute their time and talents in service on state boards and commissions,” Walker’s letter to Guenter-Schlesinger said. “Thank you for your desire to serve in this capacity. I hope that you find this experience both rewarding and enjoyable.”

 

Guenter-Schlesinger will serve on the committee until July 2008.

 

The Utah Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Rights Commission works to promote education and awareness of King’s ideals of diversity, equality and human rights for all.

 

According to the commission’s Web site, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Rights Commission is made up of 14 volunteer commissioners representing the ethnic and religious diversity of Utah. The state of Utah, Department of Community and Economic Development, Division of Community Development, supports the work of the MLK Human Rights Commission.
