Utah State University 2015 Year of Water Comes to a Close

The calendar “Year of Water” may be ending, but here at Utah State University the work is never done. The university will continue to address global water challenges with the same fierce dedication it has for the past 127 years. The university’s engineers, hydrologists, agronomists, sociologists, climate scientists, educators and other researchers are still the foremost voices on issues related to water in the state and beyond. Their passion and understanding of this precious resource drives cutting-edge research and pushes them, as well as their students, to develop solutions to problems across the water spectrum.

To honor the faculty and students who continue to make a difference in the world of water, Utah State University is proud to display advertising banners at the Salt Lake City International Airport from now until January 25, 2016. These banners are a testament to the university’s commitment to not only keep water a priority, but actively guide and develop practices and policies that will address Utah’s current and future water needs.

As Utah’s land-grant institution, it is the mission of Utah State University to serve the public through learning, discovery and engagement. As the Year of Water draws to a close, the university promises to continue its efforts to provide safe and effective solutions to water challenges within Utah as well as around the world.  USU is the state’s source for water expertise — with a future to lead.

About the Photographs

The photographs on display are of beautiful water sources within the state. They were taken by USU attendee and Utah native Johnny Adolphson. A self-described photo-holic who does whatever it takes to get the right shot, Adolphson currently lives in Heber with his wife, Sherry, and two sons, Toby and Liam.
