Utah State Track & Field to Host Mark Faldmo Invitational This Weekend

Utah State track & field will host the annual Mark Faldmo Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 15-16, at Ralph Maughan Track Stadium.

Utah State [University] track and field will host the annual Mark Faldmo Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 15-16, at Ralph Maughan Track Stadium.

Friday's events will begin with the women's and men's hammer throw at 4 p.m., while day one of the invitational will conclude with the women's and men's 5,000m.

Saturday kicks off with the men's and women's discus at 10 a.m. The meet will come to a close at 3:15 p.m. with the men's and women's 4x400m relays.

Utah State will host entrants from BYU, Utah Valley, Weber State, Southern Utah and Idaho State.

The Aggies will also send a small group of distance runners to the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays, Thursday through Saturday, at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Norwalk, Calif. 

In last week's action, freshman Alyssa Hirschi won her first collegiate heptathlon with a tally of 4,580 points at the Idaho State-hosted HEP-DEC Fest. Utah State also competed at the Utah Spring Classic and the UCLA-hosted Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational.

The Mountain West Outdoor Championships will be held in Fresno, Calif., May. 11-14, just 11 days before the First Round of the NCAA Championships in Lawrence, Kan., on May 26-28.
