Utah State Track & Field Heading to a Pair of Meets This Weekend

Utah State's [University] track and field teams look to put the finishing touches on an impressive regular season before the upcoming conference championships. The Aggies have a portion of its team competing Wednesday through Saturday, April 27-30, at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Aggies will also compete at the Boise State-hosted Border Clash, Friday and Saturday.

"We are trying to improve upon what we have accomplished so far this season," said Utah State head coach Gregg Gensel. "This will be the final tune-up for most of us leading up to the conference championships."

Despite some nasty weather conditions last weekend, Utah State was highlighted by its men's relay teams, seizing the top spots in the 4x100m (39.90) and the 4x400m (3:06.96) at the BYU-hosted Clarence Robison Invitational.

Junior AJ Boully emerged as the key individual performer of the meet as he participated on both relay teams, as well as won the 110m hurdles (14.16) and the 400m hurdles (50.76).

The Mountain West Outdoor Championships will be held in Fresno, Calif., May 11-14, just 11 days before the First Round of the NCAA Championships in Lawrence, Kan., May 26-28.
