Utah State Graduate Passes Impressive Exam

Utah State University graduate Jill Williams became one of only 42 percent of financial professionals to pass this year's Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst exam.

The CFA program is recognized globally for measuring the competence and integrity of financial analysts. CFA charter members consider their hard-earned participation a mark of achievement and dedication to the pursuit of knowledge, experience and ethics in the financial world.

"Jill's achievement is significant," said Alan Stephens, head of the business administration department at Utah State. "A new scholarship program at Utah State University allows five students to receive money to pay for the CFA exam fees, and Jill is the first to pass the exam under this program."

The CFA program includes three exams and participants must serve three years in a decision-making position of the investment profession before becoming a member.

"Much of what was on the exam I had actually learned in my Utah State classes," said Williams. "It was fun to apply what I learned toward something that will help me in my future career."
