Utah State Football's Road Opener at USC to be Televised on Pac-12 Network

Utah State [University] football’s road opener at USC will be televised nationally on the Pac-12 Network and kickoff at 11 a.m. (PT) / noon (MT) Saturday, Sept. 10, it was announced Wednesday [June 1, 2016].

USC won the Pac-12 South Division last season with a 6-3 record and then lost to Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship Game. The Trojans concluded its season with a loss to Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl to finish its year with an 8-6 record.

Utah State is 0-5 all-time against the Trojans, which includes a 17-14 loss in the last meeting between the two teams on Sept. 21, 2013, in Los Angeles.

With this addition, Utah State now has 10 of its 12 regular season fall games slated for national television as four of its games will be broadcast by CBS Sports Network and five of its games will appear on ESPN.

Utah State's four games on CBS Sports Network include home games against Arkansas State on Friday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m., Fresno State on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 8:30 p.m., and San Diego State on Friday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m., and a road game at Colorado State on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. Utah State's five Mountain West games that will be nationally televised on one of the ESPN networks include its league opener at home against Air Force Saturday, Sept. 24, its road game at Boise State Saturday, Oct. 1, its road game at Wyoming Saturday, Nov. 5, its regular season home finale against New Mexico Saturday, Nov. 12, and its road game at Nevada to conclude conference play Saturday, Nov. 19. Kick times and specific outlets for Utah State's five ESPN games mentioned above will be determined during the course of the regular season (generally a 12-day window). Utah State’s 2016 schedule begins with a non-conference home game against Weber State Thursday, Sept. 1, followed by a road game at Pac-12 Conference member USC on Saturday, Sept. 10. USU then returns home to host Arkansas State the following weekend.

Utah State will begin Mountain West play at home for the third-straight year as it hosts Air Force on Saturday, Sept. 24. USU then plays back-to-back Mountain West road games at Boise State and at Colorado State on Saturday, Oct. 1, and Saturday, Oct. 8, respectively.

Utah State will then have a bye before hosting Fresno State and San Diego State in back-to-back Mountain West home games on Saturday, Oct. 22, and Friday, Oct. 28, respectively.

As the calendar turns to November, Utah State plays at Wyoming Saturday, Nov. 5, before hosting New Mexico Saturday, Nov. 12, in its final home game. USU will then conclude its regular season with back-to-back road games against Mountain West foe Nevada Saturday, Nov. 19, and at in-state rival BYU Saturday, Nov. 26.

For Utah State, this year's schedule marks the first time since 2012 that it will have three home games before the first of October, while it will also be playing consecutive road games to end a season for the first time since 2007.

The 2016 schedule will play out over 14 weeks, concluding Saturday, Dec. 3, with the Mountain West Football Championship Game to be played at the home stadium of the highest ranked of the two divisional champions.

The 2016 MW football membership includes Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Utah State and Wyoming in the Mountain Division and Fresno State, Hawai'i, Nevada, San Diego State, San José State and UNLV in the West Division.
