Utah State Blue Light Honors Homecoming

The Utah State University blue light atop Old Main will light the night sky Friday, Oct. 7, to honor Homecoming weekend.

 

A Homecoming kickoff is planned Friday, Oct. 7, at noon on the Taggart Student Center Plaza where free treats will be served. The Homecoming dance — "Transformation" — is that evening in the TSC, with music, dancing and fun for all. Tickets are free for USU students with current ID and $5 for all others. True Aggie Night takes place at midnight on the Quad.

 

The 5K run begins Saturday, Oct. 8, at 9 a.m. and is followed by the traditional Homecoming parade on Logan's Main Street at 10 a.m. The parade begins at 100 S. and continues to 700 N. and includes entries from campus organizations and surrounding communities.

 

Also on Saturday, Oct. 8, Utah State fans can sport their Aggie blue at the Homecoming football game against San Jose State. Game kickoff is at 1:05 p.m.

 

Following the football game a Comedy Night will be held at 8 p.m. in the TSC. The $2 entry fee will go to the Agriculture Technology Memorial Fund that will give scholarships in memory of those USU students who lost their lives in the accident on Sept. 26.

 

Rounding out the week's events are an Aggie Ice Cream Party on Monday, Oct. 10, at 12:30 p.m. in the TSC, and the Mr. USU Pageant, Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. in the Kent Concert Hall. Both events are free for students.
