USU Women's Volleyball Set to Open at Home in the USU Invitational

Utah State [University] women's volleyball will host the USU Invitational, sponsored by Gossner Foods, this week [Sept. 8-9], facing UC Riverside and Portland State on Thursday, Sept. 8, at noon and 7 p.m., respectively. The Aggies will then wrap up the tournament with Southeastern Louisiana Friday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m.
USU enters the weekend with a 2-4 record after going 2-1 at the Pioneer Invitational last weekend [Sept. 3]. The Aggies were led by an all-tournament team effort by junior outside Lauren Anderson with 44 kills and a team-best .300 hitting percentage (44-14-100). On the year, Anderson is leading the team with 78 kills, averaging 3.71 per set. As a team, Utah State is hitting .227 on the year with 266 kills on 708 attempts with 105 errors.
Defensively, senior libero Hannah Gleason leads the team with 91 digs, averaging 4.33 per set. Junior middle Carly Lenzen leads the Utah State block with 17 block assists on the year.
