USU Opens Office for Retention and First-Year Experience

The staff of Utah State University’s office of Retention and First-Year Experience cut an Aggie blue ribbon Tuesday, Nov.28, to signify the opening of their new office in the Taggart Student Center.

The office is a combination of programs and services that have served students for many years with a new mission to include campus wide retention initiatives.

 

Gary Chambers, vice-president for student services, shared the vision that the creation of this office allows for greater collaboration and more visibility for retention and first-year efforts.

 

The office connects incoming students to comprehensive information and assistance, parents and families of students to university resources and first-year students to campus resources. The office also assists returning students with transitional and academic assistance. In addition, the office connects campus offices and departments to student retention efforts.
