USU Museum of Anthropology Goes 'Around the World and Back Again'

In the continuation of the Saturday activity series, the Utah State University Museum of Anthropology features a guest Saturday, Feb. 2, when professional storyteller Rachel Hedman presents the program “Around the World and Back Again,” a storytelling performance and workshop.

USU students and members of the public are invited to the museum any time during the 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday hours.

 

Members from USU’s Folklore Society will be on hand from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. to discuss storytelling and culture with museum guests. Hedman will present a program for younger audiences at 1 p.m., followed by an optional workshop at 2 p.m. A similar performance and workshop geared for ages 10 and up will be presented at 3 and 4 p.m.

 

“Everyone has a story,” said Hedman. “And storytelling has a way of opening our eyes to say, ‘hey, we’re not that different after all.’”

 

The USU Museum of Anthropology is on the USU campus in the south turret of the historic Old Main building, room 252. Free parking is available in the adjacent lot, south of the building.
