USU Mitten Tree Project to Benefit Those in Need

The Mitten Tree Project, started in 1988 by the Utah State University Women’s Center Advisory Board, take place from Nov. 13 to Dec.6.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to donate new mittens, hats, scarves and socks. Handmade items are also welcomed. The items will be donated to the children at Bear River Head Start program and the Child and Family Support Center. Mitten Tree project has 23 locations where donations may be made.

 

“The Mitten Tree project has been warming Cache Valley hands, feet, and hearts for more than 16 years,” said Patricia Stevens, director of the Utah State Women’s Center. “This is our ‘thank you’ to the community for its support of the Women’s Center’s fund-raising projects.”

 

Items may be donated between Nov.13 and Dec. 6, 2006 at the following locations: Bridgerland Applied Technology College, Cache Valley Learning Center, Cache Valley Unitarian Universalists, Faith & Fellowship Center, First Presbyterian Church, Hyclone Laboratories Inc., Logan Golf & Country Club, Logan Library, North Logan City Library, Senior Citizens Center, Shear Shack Hair & Nails, Smithfield City Public Library, St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Society of Friends (Quaker), Students at Providence Elementary School, The Italian Place Restaurant, USU Child Development Lab, USU Children’s House, USU College of Natural Resources, USU Community Credit Union, USU TSC Carousel Square and Valley Montessori School.
