USU's Midsummer Night’s Magic Features the Lightwood Duo
The Midsummer Night’s Magic at the Performance Hall concert series continues with the Lightwood Duo in the next concert Wednesday, July 9, at the Performance Hall on the Utah State University campus (approximately 1090 E. 675 North, Logan). Concert time is 7:30 p.m.
Like all concerts in the Midsummer Night’s Magic series, admission is $10, and all proceeds go to support scholarships for music students at USU.
“I am delighted with the support that has been shown for the series thus far,” said USU Music Department Head Craig Jessop. “The reception has been very positive, and I’m looking forward to each of the upcoming concerts which feature the unique talents of both faculty and student ensembles.”
The Lightwood Duo, comprised of Mike Christiansen on guitar and Eric Nelson on clarinet, is an especially unique ensemble. The duo has performed across the country in a variety of settings. Performing many of their own original arrangements, the duo is known for its distinct sound, performing a variety of styles, including jazz, Celtic, film music and classical.
Upcoming Midsummer Night’s Magic concerts feature the Opera Gala (July 16), piano students of Gary Amano (July 23), the Fry Street Quartet (July 30) and the Mike and Corey Christiansen Guitar Duo (Aug. 6).
