Lowered Flags Honor Utah Soldier
Utah Gov. Jon M. Huntsman, Jr., has authorized the lowering of the national and state flags Friday, July 13. Flags will be flown at half-staff at all state facilities from sunrise to sunset in honor of Sergeant First Class Nathan L. Winder.
Sgt. Winder died June 26, 2007, in Ad Diwaniyah, Iraq, from injuries sustained from small arms fire. He was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Ft. Lewis, Wash.
Sgt. Winder’s parents, Carl and Teri Winder, reside in Blanding, Utah.
Burial services are scheduled July 13 at 11 a.m. in the Arlington National Cemetery.
