Utah State women’s volleyball will host Colorado State on Thursday, Sept. 29, in the Aggies Mountain West home opener. The night is the annual "White-Out" match with fans wearing white getting in for just $1 and the first 500 fans getting free white pom-poms.
Utah State will enter the match having split a pair of five-set contests at Nevada and San Diego State last week. The Aggies posted a 3-2 victory over the Wolf Pack before falling 3-2 against the Aztecs, putting USU’s overall record at 6-7 on the year, including a 1-1 ledger in conference play.
Utah State is hitting .230 (620-242-1,642) this season with senior outside Kaylie Kamalu-Smith leading the attack with 160 kills. She is followed by junior outside Lauren Anderson with 154 kills. The duo is one of only two sets of teammates in the Mountain West that ranks in the top-10 in kills as Kamalu-Smith is seventh with 3.56 kills per set and Anderson is ninth with 3.28 kills per set. Senior setter Erica Moscoso is fourth in the Mountain West in assists, averaging 10.22 per set and totaling 419 while directing the Aggie attack.
Defensively, junior middle Carly Lenzen is 10th in the Mountain West with 1.00 blocks per set, totaling 49 on the year. Senior libero Hannah Gleason leads the Aggie back row with 186 digs, averaging 3.72 per set.
