USU Holds Annual Spring String Chamber Music Recital

The Utah State University String Program, based in the Department of Music and the Caine College of the Arts, presents its annual spring concert Friday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall on USU’s Logan campus.

“Students directly experience the results of their dedication, ideas and skills in this performance,” said Brad Ottesen, Caine College of the Arts assistant professor and member of the Fry Street Quartet.

Students in the string program are tutored by members of the Fry Street Quartet, USU’s resident string group, and the string faculty in the music department. All students in the string program will perform, showcasing the hours of preparation dedicated to this performance.

The program includes masterworks by Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Dvorak, Mendelssohn and Purcell.

“As faculty, we’d love to invite everyone to this special evening where every student in the string program has a voice,” said Ottesen.

Tickets for the String Chamber Music recital are $10 general admission, $8 seniors & youth, $5 USU faculty and staff and free for USU students with valid ID.
