USU Gymnastics Ranked 25th in the Nation

LOGAN — Utah State University gymnastics moved from 30th to 25th in the nation with a regional qualifying score of 193.085.

 

The Aggies rank 17th on the vault (48.775), 26th on bars (48.225), 35th on beam (47.630) and are tied for 24th in the floor exercise (48.395).

 

Individually, Katy Schilla is tied for 14th in the nation on the vault with a regional qualifying score of 9.845. Meagan Lewis is 45th on bars with a 9.755 RQS, Jessica Parenti-Otte is tied for 56th with a 9.705 RQS on beam, while Nicki Felley is tied for 75th in the floor exercise with a 9.690 RQS. In the all-around, Jessica Parenti-Otte is 19th with a 38.895 RQS and Meagan Lewis is 35th wih a 38.420 RQS.

 

In the WAC, freshman Katy Schilla is ranked first in the conference in the vault with a regional qualifying score of 9.845, while Jessica Parenti-Otte ranks third with a 9.770 RQS. Heather Heinrich (5th, 9.715) and Meagan Lewis (8th, 9.685) also rank in the top-10.

 

The Aggies also have two gymnasts ranked in the top 10 on bars with Lewis (2nd, 9.755) and Parenti-Otte (3rd, 9.720). On balance beam, Parenti-Otte is ranked 5th with a 9.705 RQS. Nicki Felley is tied for fourth on the floor with a 9.690 RQS, while Parenti-Otte is sixth with a 9.675.

 

Utah State leads the conference with a regional qualifying score of 193.085, followed by Sacramento State (192.005) in second and San Jose State (191.615) in third. Boise State (191.55) and Southern Utah (191.380) round out the teams in that order. Cal State-Fullerton is not currently ranked due to not enough competition to go towards a regional qualifying score.
