USU Guitar Students Give Fall Concert in Caine Performance Hall

Utah State University’s Music Department presents the annual fall Guitar Ensembles concert Monday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Caine Performance Hall on USU’s Logan campus.

“The music being performed will include original music by USU guitar majors,” said Corey Christiansen, professor of guitar in the Caine College of the Arts. “We present a wide variety of music and styles such as rock, folk, classical and jazz.”

The performance marks the 38th year that guitar ensembles have performed at USU. Music majors participate in ensemble groups in order to sharpen their skills and prepare for the professional world.

“A new ensemble this year is a classical guitar duo coached by Mike Christiansen,” Corey Christiansen said. “We will also have acoustic and jazz ensembles. There’s something for everyone at this concert, any guitar lover will appreciate this program.”

Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 seniors and youth, $5 USU faculty and staff and free for USU students with ID.
