USU Extension Announces New Associate Vice President
Utah State University Vice President of Extension and Dean of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences Kenneth L. White announced the appointment of Brian J. Higginbotham as associate vice president of Extension, effective July 15. Higginbotham will replace Charles Gay, who retired June 30 after serving in the position for 11 years.
Higginbotham has been an Extension specialist in the USU Family, Consumer, and Human Development Department since 2005. He has done extensive research on the development and enhancement of healthy interpersonal relationships and mentoring at-risk youth and their families. His Extension program areas have focused on couple and relationship education, university-military partnership and relationship quality in diverse family environments.
White said he is pleased to now have Higginbotham as part of Extension administration.
“He brings an excellent skill set, a strong track record of developing high impact Extension programing and an excellent knowledge base of Extension to this new assignment,” he said.
Higginbotham said he is extremely honored and humbled to work with such a wonderful group of people in this new capacity.
“I look forward to advocating Extension and promoting the great work our faculty members, both on and off campus, are doing,” he said.
