LOGAN, Utah — Utah State University enters 2026 with continued national recognition for excellence in online education. USU Online has been ranked among the top 25 universities for online bachelor’s degree programs since 2015 and ranks highest among Utah institutions in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings:
- 12 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans, up two spots from 2025.
- 17 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs overall, up eight spots from 2025.
- 45 Best Online Master’s in Education Programs, up 32 spots from 2025.
With over 30 years of experience in distance and online education, USU Online continues to make strategic investments to strengthen academic quality, enhance the online learning experience, and expand access to education at every stage of life.
USU Online currently offers 71 programs across a wide range of fields, including health, education, agriculture, business, and technology. These offerings span certificates through doctoral degrees. Online education plays a significant role in the university’s academic enterprise with nearly half of Utah State University’s students enrolled in at least one online course, reflecting growing demand for flexible, accessible learning options.
As part of this continued growth, USU Online will become an official campus, with students admitted to begin Spring 2027. The creation of an Online Campus establishes a dedicated academic home for online learners both in Utah and beyond.
“The purpose of the Online Campus is to better identify and support online learners, regardless of their location,” said Ryan Hobbs, vice president of USU Online and Digital Learning Technology. “As a land-grant institution, USU is committed to making high-quality education accessible and affordable for learners who may not be able to pursue a traditional on-campus degree. The Online Campus allows us to meet students where they are and provide the support, flexibility, and connection they need to succeed.”
Additional details about the Online Campus, including student services, cost, academic support and enrollment processes, will be shared in advance of the Fall 2026 launch.
