USU Celebrates Homecoming 2015 with New Twist and Alumni Recognition

Utah State University invites its students and alumni, along with members of the Cache Valley community, to join together Sept. 28 through Oct. 3 for the most anticipated and exciting tradition of the year — Homecoming 2015. The long-standing tradition promises a celebratory look at the past and adds a fun twist to many popular activities, USU Alumni Association organizers said.

This year’s Homecoming honorees, chosen for their notable accomplishments and character as USU alumni, include Ross and Kay Peterson (Grand Marshals), Clark and Jennifer Whitworth (Alumni of the Year) and Brady and Andrea Murray (Young Alumni of the Year). Honorees are chosen for their record of service and support to the university and are a prominent feature of the homecoming parade.

Among the week’s popular activities is the annual 5k, which benefits the USU Spirit Squad, and it now features an accompanying dog walk. Runners are encouraged to decorate their canine buddies to win a prize in the costume contest.

Other fundraising activities include the Utah Agricultural Products BBQ. The BBQ, which features local meats and produce, helps fund scholarships for the College of Agricultural and Applied Sciences.

While many activities are free, some have a modest cost. Details and registration are available online.
