UPDATE: Regents Meeting On Campus Today To Discuss Next President of Utah State University

Faculty, staff and students are invited to a meeting of the Utah State System of Higher Education Board of Regents at noon today (Jan. 18) in the Taggart Student Center Sunburst/International lounges.

The Regents will convene in person and by conference call to consider options regarding the appointment of the 15th president of Utah State University. Those in attendance will include Board of Regents Chair Nolan E. Karras and Commissioner Richard Kendell.

A committee was appointed by Karras nearly two weeks ago to make a recommendation for replacing outgoing Utah State University President Kermit L. Hall. The committee, led by Regent Jed Pitcher, was on campus a week ago seeking input from students, faculty and staff regarding the selection of the next president. The committee, including Utah State University Trustee Richard Shipley and Robert Foley, Uintah Basin Extension Advisory Board, reported its findings Jan. 14 to the regents. Today’s open meeting was subsequently scheduled and an announcement is expected to be made.
