Undergrads to Present at National Undergraduate Literature Conference

Seven Utah State University Department of English creative writing students had their work accepted for the National Undergraduate Literature Conference at Weber State University. Ben Clarke, Meredith Brown, Melanny Cowley, Artimesia Olsen, William Smith, Daniel Robertson and Nicole Warenski will read their poetry and/or essays at the conference.

In 1985, Weber State Professors Mikel Vause and Michael Meyer had an idea to organize a conference unique in requesting submissions from undergraduates only, thus giving the undergraduate an opportunity to present papers both critical and creative, to an audience of peers from campuses across the country. That same year, their idea became the National Undergraduate Literature Conference, and since 1985, the NULC continues with the same mission, attracting some of the finest undergraduate students from every state to present their papers and to hear some of most important writers in contemporary literature.

 

The National Undergraduate Literature Conference is held annually during the month of April on the campus of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and any undergraduate is welcome to attend the conference.
