Tuesday, September 11, 2007, is Patriot Day
Under the direction of President George W. Bush, Utah Gov. Jon M. Huntsman, Jr., has authorized the lowering of the national and state flags Tuesday, Sept. 11, in recognition of Patriot Day. The flags shall be flown at half-staff at all state-owned facilities from sunrise until sunset.
By a joint resolution approved Dec. 18, 2001, the Congress designated Sept. 11 of each year as Patriot Day.
In his proclamation, Pres. Bush also called for a moment of silence to be observed at 8:46 a.m. eastern daylight time.
