Tickets on Sale for International Banquet April 2 at Utah State

Tickets are now on sale for Utah State University’s annual International Spring Banquet and Culture Show set for Saturday, April 2, on campus. Presented by the university’s International Student Council (ISC), the gathering, open to the public, will be held in the Stevenson Ballroom of the Taggart Student Center.  Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. followed by entertainment at 7 p.m.

 

Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children under age 12 and $8 for students with current ID and can be purchased in the TSC Customer Service Center, room 212, and the Smith Spectrum ticket office on campus.

 

Billed as Logan’s “biggest gastronomic gala of year,” the banquet features cuisine from around the world, said ISC advisor Mary Heers. “Our students have been working with TSC chefs to create a menu using recipes from Africa, India, Sri Lanka, China, New Zealand, Europe, as well as the United States.”

 

“We’re even having traditional apple pie,” said Heers. “What could be more American?”

 

“The evening will tantalize one’s musical and artistic sensibilities as well as the palate,” said Maribeth Evensen-Hengge, producer of the event’s culture show.

 

Musical entertainment includes European cabaret music, along with performances from a jazz fusion ensemble from India and a rock quartet comprised of musicians from Pakistan and Nepal, said Evenson-Hengge. The culture show also features traditional Chinese, African and Malaysian dance.

 

Parking for the event is available in the university parking terrace at 850 E. 700 North, which is adjacent to the Taggart Student Center.
