About 40 percent of today’s newlywed couples include partners who’ve been married before. Remarriage requires patience and flexibility says Utah State University professor Tom Lee. Children and ex-spouses are often involved in the couple’s new life and creating a harmonious stepfamily takes time. Making the new couple’s relationship a priority is a key to success.
