The Khmer Empire and Other Lost Cities at the USU Museum of Anthropology

“The Khmer Empire and Other Lost Cities” is the featured topic at the Utah State University Museum of Anthropology’s “Saturdays at the Museum” event Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

The remains of the Khmer Empire, which existed in Cambodia between the 9th and 12th centuries CE, provide anthropologists with a wealth of clues leading to a better understanding of this ancient culture. The museum event at USU will present many of the discoveries found, as well as touch on other lost cities that visitors might want to explore on their own. According to event organizers, this is a family event that features presentations and children’s activities throughout the day.

 

Funding for Saturday events is provided by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. More information about the IMLS is available online.
