Thanks to the USU Family

Donors who participated in the USU Family Fund Campaign were in the spotlight during a “thank you” reception April 24 at the Haight Alumni Center on campus. President Stan Albrecht was on hand to congratulate those who participated in the successful event.

USU Faculty, staff and retirees have contributed 77 percent more during the campaign than in the same period last year

 

“That impressive number reflects your belief in this great institution,” Albrecht told those attending the reception. “Thank you for your contributions.”

 

Members of the “Aggie family” have increased their personal commitment to the university through their contributions.

 

A roundup of campaign figures shows that at the conclusion of the six-week campaign that ended March 31, faculty, staff and USU retirees contributed $78,000 – a 77 percent increase over last year. The total number of gifts during the campaign was 2,005, and that’s a 93 percent increase over last year’s time period. During the current fiscal year, employees and retirees have donated $491,000, a 21 percent increase over last year.

 

The total number of USU employee/retiree donors is 1,056 – 30 percent of all employees and retirees. The national average is 25 percent.

 

The financial support from the USU Family Fund Campaign can make a difference in numerous programs campus wide, Albrecht said. It can provide additional scholarships, help with out-of-state tuition waivers, book purchases, potential programming assistance for Utah Public Radio or housing assistance for Aggie interns in Washington, D.C.,

 

Campaign director Lee Roderick thanked the campaign co-chairs who made the project a success. Roderick thanked Janis Boettinger, past president of the Faculty Senate; Marsha Howell, president of the Professional Employee Association, Milt Johnson, past president of the Classified Employee Association; Max and Karen Peterson and JR Allred who led efforts among retirees; and BrandE Faupell.
