Stand by Your (Best) Man

In days of yore, when a young man fell in love he simply entered a young girl’s home and stole her away, say USU folklorists. A smart suitor brought along strong-armed friends for support – especially if the blushing bride had brothers. Today, the groom brings a best man and ushers to the wedding.
