Smarter Teachers, Smarter Kids?

Each year, billions of dollars are spent on helping teachers get smarter about how to teach young children to read and write successfully. Are these efforts effective, asks USU researcher Ray Reutzel? He aims to conduct research to find out if increased professional development training for teachers is resulting in higher student reading and writing achievement nationwide.
